Growing Golf

The Century Club’s Growing Golf program seeks to make the game of golf accessible for all. Access to education and job readiness training are critical to creating and sustaining communities that are diverse, equitable, and inclusive.

Careers in Golf

To expose the variety of career opportunities that serve the business side of the game, the Century Club partners with the First Green to host middle schoolers for a STEM-focused field trip using the golf course as the backdrop. The students witness science in action and learn from course superintendents as well as tournament staff and partners on their respective career journeys.

First Tee, Pro Kids – San Diego

In partnership with First Tee, Pro Kids – San Diego, the Century Club expands access to the game for underserved youth. With more than half of the participants receiving scholarships, these programs provide not only golf instruction, but also mentorship, education, and life-skills development.

Tony Scholl Cup

This annual event honors Tony Scholl’s legacy by using golf to build confidence, character, and community both on and off the course. Pro Kids participants and Century Club members come together for a day of mentorship and connection through golf. As part of this dual-impact initiative, participants also support the beautification of Colina Park—combining play with purpose.

Diversity in the Game

To increase diversity among players, The Century Club has hosted the APGA Tour on Saturday and Sunday of tournament week since 2020. The Advocates Professional Golf Association (APGA) Tour helps to remove the financial burden associated with the game and provide playing opportunities while ensuring players have access to the tools and support they need, allowing them to better focus on their career path and development in the game.
